On 13th February 2020, seven young Placechangers, their families and representatives from Greenspace Scotland, The Gannochy Trust and local community gathered to launch the new look Curly.
David Gray, Chairman of The Gannochy Trust, revealed a special plaque to commemorate the inspiring work that the young volunteers did to transform the Curly into a welcoming facility for fun and good health. After two years of planning, design and community consultation, the Placechangers delivered a new fence around the football area, two access gates and a picnic area complete with seats, benches and a tarmac surface.
Following the launch, the Placechangers went to the Gannochy Community Hall, where Greenspace Scotland spoke to parents and local community members to get feedback about the project. The young volunteers also worked on their Silver Youth Achievement Award placed on SCQF at Level 5 which the Curly project will contribute towards.
