The Gannochy Trust appoints two new Trustees to join its Board
December 23, 2020

The Gannochy Trust has appointed Ailsa Macmillan and Ruth Ogston to join its Board of Trustees from 21 December 2020. Ian McMillan, one of the Trust’s longest serving Trustees, stood down in November.

Ailsa and Ruth bring a wealth of experience to The Gannochy Trust. Ailsa has over 15 years fund-raising and grant assessment experience in the Scottish charity sector, with a long-term passion for supporting the needs of vulnerable young people.  Ailsa also has a keen interest in accessible housing through her involvement with Housing Options Scotland, providing housing for the disabled, elderly and members of the Armed Forces.

Ruth has worked in the charitable sector for over 25 years, focusing on fundraising and project management in the arts sector. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and has worked as a respite foster carer for Glasgow City Council since 2019. Ruth is a Trustee of Perth-based The Thomson Trust and has been a member of the Glasgow Children’s Panel.

Ian was one of The Gannochy Trust’s longest serving Trustees, having joined the Board back in 2004. As a qualified Chartered Engineer and former Director of Scottish and Southern Energy, Ian brought a wealth of experience and always delivered sound, practical advice to the Trust and will be missed.

David Gray, Chairman of The Gannochy Trust said: “We welcome Ruth and Ailsa to our Board of Trustees. Their collective third sector experience, local knowledge and underlying passion to improve the lives of vulnerable people, particularly the young, will complement our Board greatly. We very much look forward to working with Ruth and Ailsa over the coming years.”
