There’s plenty of great things to see and do in the park for children and families.
In partnership with The Gannochy Trust, the RSPB run a series of exciting nature events and guided walks for children and families visiting the park.
Their popular Quarrymill Adventures Session, takes 8 – 12 year olds on an afternoon of exploration with RSPB’s forest school leaders.
There are also plenty of fun events for pre-schoolers including the Wild Woodland Walks, a guided tour of the woods followed by lots of seasonal and wildlife inspired fun.

Make a bug box and see what bugs and beasties you can find under rocks, logs and leaves.
See if you can identify what you find and have a go at drawing your favourite ones when you get home!
Step 1 Using a clean and empty, plastic juice bottle, cut a window in the side;
Step 2 Fill your bottle with some organic material from the garden such as, dirt, leaves and flowers. Make a frame with any material you like, you could use designer duct tape, decorated cardboard or some fancy cloth.
Step 3 Cut out a piece of window netting or gauze, see-through material and tape down across the window.
Step 4 Then just open up the pour spout and let the bugs walk in.
