Changes to the Trustee Board at The Gannochy Trust
The Gannochy Trust has appointed David Kemp to join its Board of Trustees from 1st June 2024. David Gray, who had been a Trustee for eight years, stood down on 31st May 2024 having served two full terms on the Board.
David Kemp will bring a wealth of experience to The Gannochy Trust having spent much of his career in finance and senior management positions within the private sector including 20 years at Gleneagles, initially as Finance Director and latterly as Joint Managing Director. Prior to that he worked with KPMG in London before moving to Guinness and then Diageo in various senior finance roles. David enjoys working collaboratively in leadership groups and has a particular interest in supporting the provision of quality recreational spaces for people to use and enjoy.
David Gray joined the Trust in 2016 and held the position of Chair from February 2019 to June 2023. During this period he oversaw significant developments at the Trust including the completion of 48 new houses, a review of the Trust’s governance arrangements, and the development of a new strategic plan with supporting estate and grant strategies. He was also closely involved with implementing a new investment strategy for the Trust which will help protect and grow the funds the Trust generates to support communities throughout Perthshire and Scotland. During his time on the Board, David has been particularly interested in how the Trust can help charities to nurture and develop young people, and he always delivered insightful, practical advice which will be greatly missed.
Stephen Hay, Chair of The Gannochy Trust said: “We welcome David Kemp to our Board of Trustees. His wide range of business experience, local knowledge, and underlying passion for the region will complement our Board greatly. We would also like to thank David Gray for the huge contribution he has made to the Trust over the last eight years.”
