The Gannochy Trust has a range of buildings, grounds and woodlands where locals and visitors can enjoy a range of activities.

These include: cricket, archery, walking and wildlife watching.  Our buildings are also available for the use of our tenants and local charities.

Perth Archery Club is based at Doo’cot Park and welcomes all novice and expert archers.  The club uses the Doo’cot Cricket Pavilion and grounds for practice sessions and competitive events.  Archery is an ancient sport that dates back to 10,000 BC.  Today, it’s a great activity for all ages.   Perth Archery Club offers the opportunity to develop these skills in the beautiful setting of Doo’cot Park with regular courses and practice sessions.

More information is available from Perth Archery Club

Quarrymill Woodland Park has lovely walks for all abilities, with four waymarked trails, accessible paths, varied seating and viewpoints.  Our leaflet on Quarrymill has more information.

There is a network of pathways throughout our estate, including the Coronation Road and Milkboys Walk.  The Coronation Road is a path that takes you from Scone through the Gannochy estate to the Kinnoull Woodland Park and onto Kinfauns.  Milkboys Walk is said to be the path that farm lads and lasses used to carry buckets of milk into Perth.  An information board and sign marks the start of this route.

Wildlife watching

We work closely with RSPB Scotland and other agencies to enhance the natural environment throughout The Gannochy Trust estate.

You can see many species of birds and mammals along in Quarrymill Woodland Park and the wider estate.  This includes common bird species such as robins and blackbirds, and the more rarely seen great spotted woodpecker.  You may see a water vole – or perhaps a beaver, as they have settled on the nearby River Tay.

Please do follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.  Remember – take only photographs and leave only footprints.
