Following an extended consultation involving tenants and wider community, The Gannochy Trust will be developing a range of improvements to its green spaces across the estate, including a new children’s play area at the Curly.
The consultation event held on 9th August 2023 at the Curly, was run by The Gannochy Trust with assistance from Mike Hyatt Landscape Architects and Anderson Bell + Christie. The group presented their proposals and attendees were asked to vote on items they’d like to see most at four green space zones; the Curly, mound, orchard and Gannochy Green.
The proposals aim to improve green spaces for those in and around Gannochy, encouraging pedestrian movement in the neighbourhood and providing access for all abilities and age groups.
Andy Duncan, CEO of The Gannochy Trust said: “The input from the community consultations was very helpful in formulating our plans for the improvement of our green spaces within the housing estate. The proposed developments will help provide a safe space for the recreational enjoyment, biodiversity and health and wellbeing of all those using our communal spaces.”
